SCOTLAND

CHINA

The bride begins a month before the marriage crying for an hour every day, and after 10 days the mother joins the bride in tears and ten days later the grandmother joins them and by the end of the month every female in the family cries together with the bride !! But why those strange habits? According to their beliefs, this is in fact an expression of joy.

MONGOLIA

Some of people living in Mongolia have a very strange habit of marriage. The kill a chick and they look for his liver. If the liver appears healthy and well, they are allowed to determine the date of the wedding. If not, the procedure will be repeated after a while until they find the liver of one of the chicks intact.

SOUTH SUDAN

A region in south Sudan has a belief that marriage is not complete before the woman gives birth to two children or else the husband will seek divorce from his wife.

KENYA 

At Massai's wedding party in Kenya, it is customary for a bride's father to bless his daughter by spitting on her face and chest before leaving the village with her new husband.

MAURITANIA

The bride usually follows a diet until she looks graceful and beautiful, but in Mauritania this rule is broken so that the bride tries as much as she can to look fat before marriage and the more the bride gets the more she gets a good husband.
